A globe valve, also known as a shut-off valve, is a forced sealing valve. Therefore, when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc to force the sealing surface to not leak. When the medium enters the valve from below the valve disc, the resistance that needs to be overcome by the operating force is the frictional force between the valve stem and packing and the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force to close the valve is greater than the force to open it, so the diameter of the valve stem should be larger, otherwise it will cause the valve stem to bend.

    There are 3 types of connection methods: flange connection, threaded connection, and but-welded connection. After the appearance of self sealing valves, the medium flow direction of the shut-off valve changes from above the valve disc to enter the valve chamber. At this time, under the pressure of the medium, the force to close the valve is small, while the force to open the valve is large, and the diameter of the valve stem can be correspondingly reduced. At the same time, under the action of the medium, this form of valve is also relatively tight. The "Three Modernizations" of valves in our country once stipulated that the flow direction of globe valves should be from top to bottom. When the shut-off valve is opened, the opening height of the valve disc is 25% to 30% of the nominal diameter. When the flow rate has reached its maximum, it indicates that the valve has reached the fully open position. So the fully open position of the shut-off valve should be determined by the stroke of the valve disc.

    The opening and closing part of a stop valve, Globe Valve, is a plug shaped valve disc, with a flat or conical surface on the sealing surface. The valve disc moves in a straight line along the centerline of the valve seat. The movement form of the valve stem, commonly known as the concealed rod, can also be used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal, and radioactive media through the lifting and rotating rod type. Therefore, this type of shut-off valve is very suitable for cutting, regulating, and throttling purposes. Due to the relatively short opening or closing stroke of the valve stem and the highly reliable cut-off function, as well as the proportional relationship between the change of the valve seat opening and the stroke of the valve disc, this type of valve is very suitable for regulating flow.

    The working principle of cast steel globe valves is to rotate the valve to make the valve unobstructed or blocked. Gate valves are lightweight, small in size, and can be made into large diameters. They have reliable sealing, simple structure, and convenient maintenance. The sealing surface and spherical surface are often in a closed state and are not easily eroded by media. They are widely used in various industries.

    The sealing pair of the shut-off valve consists of the sealing surface of the valve disc and the sealing surface of the valve seat. The valve stem drives the valve disc to move vertically along the centerline of the valve seat. During the opening and closing process of the shut-off valve, the opening height is small, making it easy to adjust the flow rate, and it is easy to manufacture and maintain, with a wide range of pressure applications.

    The sealing surface of the globe valve is not easily worn or scratched, and there is no relative sliding between the valve disc and the valve seat sealing surface during the valve opening and closing process. Therefore, the wear and scratch on the sealing surface are relatively small, which improves the service life of the sealing pair. The globe valve has a small valve disc stroke and a relatively small height during the full closing process. The disadvantage of a shut-off valve is that it has a large opening and closing torque and is difficult to achieve rapid opening and closing. Due to the tortuous flow channels in the valve body, the fluid flow resistance is high, resulting in significant loss of fluid power in the pipeline.

    Structural features:

    1. Open and close without friction. This function completely solves the problem of traditional valves affecting sealing due to friction between sealing surfaces.

    2. Top mounted structure. Valves installed on pipelines can be directly inspected and repaired online, which can effectively reduce device downtime and lower costs.

    3. Single seat design. Eliminated the problem of abnormal pressure rise in the chamber medium of the valve, which affects the safety of use.

    4. Low torque design. The valve stem with a special structural design can be easily opened and closed with just a small handle valve.

    5. Wedge shaped sealing structure. Valves rely on the mechanical force provided by the valve stem to press the ball wedge onto the valve seat and seal, ensuring that the sealing performance of the valve is not affected by changes in pipeline pressure difference, and reliable sealing performance is guaranteed under various working conditions.

    6. Self cleaning structure of sealing surface. When the sphere tilts away from the valve seat, the fluid in the pipeline passes uniformly along the sealing surface of the sphere at a 360 ° angle, not only eliminating the local scouring of the valve seat by high-speed fluid, but also flushing away the accumulation on the sealing surface, achieving the purpose of self-cleaning.

    7. Valve bodies and covers with a diameter below DN50 are forged parts, while those with a diameter above DN65 are cast steel parts.

    8. The connection forms between the valve body and valve cover are different, including clamp pin shaft connection, flange gasket connection, and self sealing thread connection.

    9. The sealing surfaces of the valve seat and disc are all made of plasma spray welding or overlay welding of cobalt chromium tungsten hard alloy. The sealing surfaces have high hardness, wear resistance, abrasion resistance, and long service life.

    10. The valve stem material is nitrided steel, and the surface hardness of the nitrided valve stem is high, wear-resistant, scratch resistant, and corrosion-resistant, with a long service life.

    Titanium globe valves are almost non corrosive in atmospheric, fresh water, seawater, and high-temperature steam, and are highly corrosion-resistant in alkaline media. Titanium globe valves have strong resistance to chloride ions and excellent resistance to chloride ion corrosion. Titanium globe valves have good corrosion resistance in media such as sodium hypochlorite, chlorine water, and wet oxygen. The corrosion resistance of titanium globe valves in organic acids depends on the reducing or oxidizing properties of the acid. The corrosion resistance of titanium globe valves in reducing acids depends on the presence of corrosion inhibitors in the medium.
